Women Empowerment

Ever since the first two traces of life, Adam and Eve announced their arrival on the blue planet, the most precious creation of almighty has seen a division. Man and woman. The wisdom of the creator is unquestionable and so should be the reason why he divided humans into two basic forms. One was given strength by default and the fair sex was bestowed with warmth.

As the time passed by, people evolved and so did their mentality. We conquered all that we could and are still trying to achieve more. But the one thing which we have lacked in is being able to treat both the genders equally. It’s not as if women are being tortured all over the globe but there still exists a tiny bit of male dominance over the society. No matter how much we highlight the evolution of women over the past few decades, we cannot ignore the unbalanced state of power division between man and woman.

Talking about the condition of women in India, one must mention the improvement with time. The improvement in the literacy level, job positions and other benchmarks. Indian women have reached the moon literally! C.E.Os of some of the biggest multi-national companies in India are women. They are exceling in every stream be it politics, IT or sports. There is nothing left for them to prove their worth. And yet at times the hypocrisy of the society nullifies all their achievements. We talk about women empowerment and yet do nothing about it. We hear about it from our politicians who only care to be verbal about the topic. The subject of women empowerment is being treated as a joke. We are failing to understand its importance. We are failing to understand the ill treatment of women taking place all around the nation. And utmost, we are failing to do anything about it.

The first and foremost step to be taken for the improvement should be with reference to the education system. The proportion of literacy in the nation is male dominated as well. Which shouldn’t be a thing to worry about. But the reason behind the dominance is restriction which women or girls face on their education. Especially in the rural areas  of Uttar Pradesh,Bihar,Haryana and Rajasthan, women  are basically refused  education. This is because those people live with the mentality that women are only meant for household work. This needs to end. Secondly we need to improve the safety measures for women. The Nirbhaya incident has made 16 December a black day for the entire nation. And lastly we need to learn to appreciate and show our affection and support towards all the women in our lives. Women empowerment in India should not only remain a debate topic in schools but achieve a positive status in the nation and worldwide.
